Mar 12, 2023 | Couples, Weddings

As a Chenies Manor wedding Photographer, this Buckinghamshire venue is full of romantic spots for photos. The tudor country houses — a place full of secret corners, award-winning gardens and a charming gazebo where couples exchange vows surrounded by greenery. If you’re planning your wedding at Chenies Manor and want natural, relaxed photography that tells your story, you’re in the right place.

This time I got the chance to be a wedding photographer at Chenies Manor House. This is a wedding venue based in Rickmansworth, on the Metropolitan line, making it easy to get there from London. The estate is situated, among beautiful farmland over looking Chess Valley, in the heart of Buckingham estate village called Chenies. The Manor House has wonderful Tudor architecture and award-winning gardens, which located not far from London. Check out more of my work here and check my availability.

Why Chenies Manor is a photographer’s dream

From its historic Tudor façade to the manicured lawns and lily pond, Chenies Manor offers a rich variety of backdrops in one venue. The garden rooms, mature trees and sculpted yews create intimate spaces for portraits, while the gazebo and terrace make for beautiful ceremony and group shots. These varied locations mean your wedding gallery will feel diverse — formal portraits, candid guest moments and cinematic couple photos all in one day. Chenies Manor House

How I photograph weddings at Chenies Manor (what to expect)

My approach is documentary-led: I watch for honest moments and step in with gentle prompts for portraits so you never feel stiff or posed. On the day at Chenies Manor you can expect:

  • Relaxed coverage of getting ready, ceremony, drinks and speeches.
  • Guided couple portraits in the gardens — short, simple directions so photos feel natural.
  • Candid storytelling of your guests, details and atmosphere — the kind of frames you’ll re-live again and again.

I’ll scout the venue when I can, look for the best light around the house and suggest portrait spots that suit your day (sunset lakeside, the Gazebo, the yew walk). The result is a balanced gallery that shows both the detail and the emotion of your day. London & UK Wedding Photographer+1

Real wedding moments I focus on

  • The quiet second you two share after the vows.
  • Laughter during the speeches that says more than words.
  • Small details — the stationery, the bouquet, the table styling — that make your day unique.
  • Natural couple portraits that look and feel like you.

The Ceremony at Chenies Manor

On the day of this wedding at Chenies Manor, I was fortunate to be a wedding photographer.  At Chenies Manor there are great secret spots amongst the beautiful gardens making it a photographer’s paradise. Among the award-winning gardens at Chenies Manor house, there is a romantic Gazebo where civil ceremonies take place. The gardens are a great place for portraits.

Best times & locations at Chenies Manor for photos

  • Golden hour portraits near the lily pond or terrace.
  • Formal group shots by the front steps or house façade.
  • Private couple time in the yew-lined paths or under mature trees for intimate portraits. (Pro tip: arrange a 10–15 minute slot during the day to step away for portraits — it makes a huge difference.) Chenies Manor House
