Getting Ready at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel

Recently, I had the joy of photographing an intimate wedding at Camden Town Hall, with the morning bridal preparations taking place at the iconic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

St Pancras Hotel this space is a dream for a wedding morning. It offers a backdrop that blends elegance with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for those quiet yet emotional pre-ceremony moments. I captured the candid laughter and moments shared with her closest friends and family.

During this time of day, my documentary and storytelling style helps make the couples day relaxed and fun whilst capturing each moment. As a result, I focus on quiet anticipation, warm smiles, and those fleeting but powerful moments before the ceremony begins. These images are often the ones couples treasure most.

The Ceremony – Camden Town Hall Wedding Photography

Camden Town Hall is a London classic for civil ceremonies. Its bright, elegant interiors complement the vibrant streets of central London just outside. In fact, as a London wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to how the natural light fills the ceremony room, wrapping every moment in a soft, romantic glow.

For this wedding, Andrei and Kitty chose the Council Chamber for their vows. They walked in together, setting a relaxed and personal tone from the start. The service reflected their love story perfectly, bringing both smiles and a few happy tears to their guests.

Afterwards, we stepped outside to capture relaxed portraits against the Town Hall’s striking architecture. As can be seen, this location offers a timeless, authentic setting that is full of character and emotion. These small considerations can help you enjoy the day without unnecessary stress.

We ended the day at the Ship Tavern which was lovely and perfect for small parties.

Tips for a Smooth Camden Town Hall Wedding

  • Group Photos: The marble stairs inside make a stunning backdrop for couple and group portraits.
  • Confetti Exit: If you’re planning one, use biodegradable confetti as required by the venue.
  • Timing: Arrive early to allow for the pre-marriage interview, which usually takes around 15 minutes.
  • Transport: consider how your guests will get to your reception. Hiring a red bus is a great and fun way to get around London. Check out the gallery below for inspiration for your wedding photos with a red bus.

My Documentary Approach to London Weddings

My goal is always to tell the full story of the day – from the anticipation of the morning at St Pancras Renaissance. The day continues through to the meaningful moments at Camden Town Hall, to the celebrations afterwards. I work discreetly in the background, capturing real, unposed moments as they naturally unfold.

This is the essence of natural wedding photography in London – creating a gallery that feels like reliving the day, rather than a collection of staged images. The laughter, hugs, and happy tears are the memories that truly matter.

Camden Town Hall offers a variety of beautiful backdrops for relaxed, natural wedding photography. The Marble Staircase inside Camden Town Hall is one of the most iconic spots, perfect for elegant portraits and candid moments in beautiful light. Ceremony Rooms, Guest Numbers & Light at Camden Town Hall

Camden Town Hall offers several beautiful ceremony spaces, each with its own atmosphere and photographic qualities. The Marble Staircase is one of the most iconic spots for wedding photography, perfect for elegant portraits and confetti moments just after the ceremony. The Heath Suite is a popular choice for civil ceremonies and can host 30-60 guests, while the more intimate Primrose Room is ideal for smaller weddings for the couple and 4 guests. Natural light varies throughout the building, with the best light typically found during late morning to early afternoon ceremonies, especially for portraits inside and on the steps outside. As a Camden Town Hall wedding photographer, I plan photo timings carefully around the light and flow of the day to ensure relaxed, natural images without interrupting your celebrations. If you would like to have a larger ceremony the council chamber holds 80 guests and 160 if you use the upper layer of the room

“You were incredibly professional and blended into the crowd perfectly. You were also very polite and reliable, and we were really pleased with your performance overall.” – Andrei & Kitty, married at Camden Town Hall
