London Destination Wedding Photographer for Italian Wedding

The good thing about being a London-based photographer is the easy access to destination weddings. I flew in from London and the journey to Rome took around 2 hours, my Italian adventure had just begun!

I had some time before my train to Assisi, so I took a quick trip to admire the Colosseum. After a whirlwind day of catching a bus, Italian metro, and train to where I was staying in Assisi, Hotel Cenacolo. However, my day had not finished there. Following this, I then headed off to check out the reception called Costello Petrata, where the pre-party was happening. There I met the lovely bride and groom, scouted the venue, and took some pre-wedding party photographs.

On the day of the wedding as a London destination wedding photographer

The day of the wedding had arrived. My first job as a destination wedding photographer was to go and check out the church. This is in the centre of Assisi in Italy. After taking some location shots before the church got busy, I headed off to see the bride and groom getting ready. I had to travel by car up the windy lanes to get to the location as the pre-party, which is where the bride was staying.

Once we had photographed those key moments getting ready, we then all headed off to the chapel of Assisi. The chapel was gorgeous, and the ceremony was lovely too. We managed to get some lovely portraits outside the Chapel of Assisi just before a hail storm happened!

We then travelled to the reception which was at Costello Petrata. Despite the hail storms, the party continued and everyone moved to an indoor conservatory, it was gorgeous. There were fairy lights all around the room and big bunches of stunning flowers.

After the speeches, the hail storm had stopped and the sun was beginning to come through. We headed outside to get some sunset photos.

The day ended with endless dancing until 1 am which was great fun.

My Documentary Wedding Photography Approach

I believe the best wedding photographs are the ones you don’t have to pose for. My documentary style means I’m capturing genuine moments as they happen—the tears during the ceremony, the laughter during speeches, the joy on the dance floor, and all the quiet, intimate moments in between.

On your wedding day, you’ll barely notice I’m there. I blend into the background, allowing you to be fully present with your partner, family, and friends. But when you receive your photos, you’ll see your day through my lens: every emotion, every detail, every beautiful moment preserved.

What’s Included:

  • Full-day documentary coverage (typically 8-10 hours)
  • Pre-wedding consultation to discuss your day and vision
  • Beautifully edited high-resolution images
  • Online gallery for easy viewing and sharing
  • Option to add albums, prints, and engagement sessions
