Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photographer capturing beautiful Richmond Wedding Venue
As a Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer with a natural, documentary style, I’m always drawn to venues full of atmosphere, beauty and personal connection – and Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park has all of that and more.If you’re planning a wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, you’ve chosen one of London’s most beautiful and romantic venues. As a Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer specialising in natural, documentary photography, I love capturing real, unposed moments in this unique Royal Park setting.
From the Georgian architecture and landscaped gardens to the sweeping views over the Thames Valley, Pembroke Lodge offers endless opportunities for relaxed, authentic wedding photos that tell your story.
Why Pembroke Lodge is a dream wedding venue in London
Pembroke Lodge is tucked inside Richmond Park, one of London’s most scenic and peaceful green spaces. It offers two beautiful spaces for weddings: the Russell Suite, with panoramic views and lots of natural light. The Belvedere, which opens onto the landscaped gardens – ideal for relaxed portraits and candid guest moments. The Belvedere room takes 200 people for the evening and is located on the ground floor with a beautiful terrace. The Russell suite is lovely for smaller parties taking up to 100 people for the evening and is located on the first floor, with the south lawn below it.
As the only venue in London with a Royal Park, from its sweeping views over the Thames Valley to the elegant Georgian architecture and surrounding gardens, it’s the kind of place that lends itself perfectly to relaxed, emotional photography.
As a storytelling and natural wedding photographer I love capturing the real moments at weddings, the emotions of your guests:
- Natural portraits among ancient trees and wide-open parkland
- Ambient lighting in the Russel and Belvedere suits for the ceremony
- Guests chatting and laughing in the garden over looking Richmond Park with champagne in hand
- An emotional ceremony filled with personal touches and happy tears
- Golden hour photos overlooking the park as the sun sets behind you

My Approach to wedding photography, storytelling and natural wedding photography
My style is natural and unobtrusive. Rather than staging your day or interrupting special moments, I’ll simply be there, quietly documenting everything as it genuinely unfolds. For example, whether it’s a proud glance from your dad, your partner’s nervous smile at the aisle, or a friend’s laugh over a glass of wine – those are the moments I live for.
In addition to capturing real emotions, I’m always mindful of the lighting. As part of my style as a storytelling wedding photographer, I make sure to take advantage of the light to ensure we get the very best out of your wedding photos.
Furthermore, the gardens and scenery constantly change with the seasons. Because of this, I always take the time to scout out the perfect spot for your portraits. So, whether it’s a winter wedding with speckles of sunlight through the trees, or a golden sunset glowing across a summer evening, I’ll be ready.
Ultimately, my goal is to capture the very best for you – moments you can treasure for years to come.Do check out more of my work as a South West London, uk and destination wedding photographer here.

Tips for planning your wedding at Pembroke Lodge
As a local wedding photographer in Richmond, here are a few things to consider:
- Confetti: Biodegradable only; best thrown just outside the Russell Suite or on the South Lawn.
- Golden hour: Plan 10–15 minutes for portraits about an hour before sunset — the light over the park is incredible.
- Group photos: The terrace and South Lawn are perfect for relaxed family group shots.
- Evening portraits: The Belvedere terrace lit by lanterns makes for beautiful, romantic night shots.
These small timings help ensure we capture natural, heartfelt images without interrupting your celebrations.
F&QS about Pembroke Lodge Wedding photography
Can we have confetti at Pembroke Lodge?
Yes — but only biodegradable confetti, and it’s usually thrown just outside the ceremony rooms or on the lawns.
What’s the best season to get married at Pembroke Lodge?
All seasons are beautiful: blossom in spring, golden fields in summer, autumn colour, and atmospheric winter light.
How long should we allow for couple portraits?
I recommend 10–20 minutes, ideally at golden hour; we can also do a few short, relaxed portrait sessions through the day, instead of taking a long time out of the reception. I tailer each session to each individual couple, so each session is personal to the couple.
