Getting married at Chafford Park in Kent
We started the day in the beautiful ceremony barn at Chafford Park, which had just been lovingly renovated. The rustic interior, with exposed beams and soft natural light, made for a romantic and intimate setting for the couple to tie the knot.
The ceremony itself was really special. Led by celebrant Emily Loyd, it included a ribbon-tie ritual to symbolise the couple ‘tying the knot’. It was such a refreshing and personal alternative to a traditional ceremony — full of joy, meaning, and emotion.
As a documentary wedding photographer, moments like this are a dream to capture — heartfelt, unscripted, and totally unique to the couple.
A thourtfuly styled Barn reception
After the ceremony, guests moved to the second barn for a relaxed and beautifully styled reception. The details were stunning, with table styling by Carter & Olive, who added elegant touches like:
- Pink glass tealight holders
- Vintage-style ribbons around candles
- Postage stamps from around the world
- And of course — pots of tea for a perfect British countryside touch
Menus and place settings were hand-lettered by Simply Laura Calligraphy, adding a delicate, artisan feel to the table décor.
In the centre of the long banquet table stood an eye-catching cake by Bluebell Kitchen — complete with hand-painted macarons and intricate details. We also styled the white table in the barn with matching macarons and vintage tableware to reflect the theme.
Chafford Park Wedding photography moments
Once the cake had been cut and the couple had enjoyed a few glasses of champagne, we headed outside for some relaxed portraits around the Chafford Park grounds. The weather was perfect, and golden hour gave us the dreamiest light for couple photos.
Bryony wore a bespoke dress by Felicity Westmacott, which had a beautiful silhouette and delicate detailing. She paired it with her own vintage jewellery from her brand, Olive and Eden Vintage, which complemented the romantic country theme perfectly.
Chafford Park offers so many photo opportunities — from the long meadow paths and barn exteriors to the woodland trails. Even in less-than-perfect weather, the indoor barn spaces and covered walkways provide stunning backdrops.
